Twilight Star Robert Pattinson Has A Strange Allergy “I Really Hate Vagina, I’m Allergic To Vaginas”

Robert Pattinson, he of the sparkly vampire acting gigs and legions of fans, revealed some intriguing tidbits about his personal life during a reported pint-laden interview with Details magazine.

After a beer or two and plenty of chili-spiced bar snacks, Pattinson said that when it comes down to it, his biggest emotional attachment is to his dog.

“There might be something wrong with my emotional sight,” the 23-year-old actor said. “The only emotional connection of relevance is with my dog. My relationship with my dog, it’s ridiculous.”

Which is more than he can say about his relationship with vaginas.

The racy photo shoot he did for Details positioned the heartthrob between the legs of a female model, and Pattinson said it made him a bit antsy.

“I really hate vaginas,” he said. “I’m allergic to vagina. But I can’t say I had no idea, because it was a 12-hour shoot, so you kind of get the picture that these women are going to stay naked after, like, five or six hours. But I wasn’t exactly prepared. I had no idea what to say to these girls. Thank God I was hungover.”

There was, however, a redeeming quality of the shoot for Pattinson.

“This shoot, it’s kind of eighties nakedness, you know? If you look at porn in, like, the eighties, there was something kind of quaint about it, quite sweet—like this little naked community,” Pattinson explained. “The people who made it liked it, they had respect for it. Not remotely like the porn that’s available now. No community in it at all. It’s just everything, everywhere.”

Pattinson is currently working on an adaptation of the Guy de Maupassant novel “Bel Ami,” and will make his next appearance on the silver screen in March in the drama “Remember Me.

Samsung Wave

A few more takeaways (with some input from senior editor Thomas Ricker):

* Overall the device feels like a glorified feature phone, and speaking to some other tech folks here, that feeling seemed to be common. There just doesn’t seem to be a lot to it that we haven’t seen in other Samsung devices, especially considering the TouchWiz integration.
* There was an issue with flipping the keyboard from portrait to landscape — as we said the phone is early, so this may change, but we had to leave an app and reopen in the other orientation to get it working. We also noticed that there doesn’t seem to be word prediction in place right now.
* The browser is redirecting to WAP pages, so it was hard to see what the results were. We also thought the buttons were in a very odd place, making it a bit hard to navigate.
* The display wasn’t always responding to touches, and at least one unit completely froze on us.
* For those asking, from the looks of things (and the press release) there is no multitouch on this device. Correction… we just tried pinching and zooming on the phone and while it did create some kind of zoom result, it also kept giving us an error! Furthermore, when we tried to load an image heavy site, it forced the phone into its task manager mode and made us close all applications before we could proceed with using the phone. Clearly there is work to be done

Alabama Professor Who Went On Shooting Rampage Had Also Killed Her Brother Back In 1986

A biology professor went on a killing spree, shooting three colleagues at a university campus after being told she had been turned down for a permanent job.

Amy Bishop, 42, was charged with murder after she allegedly opened fire at fellow lecturers during a faculty meeting at the University of Alabama’s Huntsville campus on Friday. Bishop had been rejected for tenure, a position that brings almost complete job security to American academics, and had lost an appeal.

Three biology professors died and three other members of staff were injured, two critically. If convicted, Bishop could face execution by lethal injection.

A man believed to be Jim Anderson, Bishop’s husband, was also being interviewed by police as “a person of interest”. Bishop was taken in handcuffs to a county jail and could be heard saying: “It didn’t happen . . . there’s no way.”

A portrait of Bishop as a brilliant researcher but a poor teacher began to emerge among her colleagues and students yesterday. And police revealed last night that she had shot dead her brother more than 20 years ago but faced no charges.

Boston police said that she had fired three shots in the family home in the suburb of Braintree, one of which hit and killed her brother, Seth, in 1986. She was then taken into custody at gunpoint but later released into the custody of her family. Records of the incident are missing from police files and a criminal investigation into their disappearance is expected.

The Harvard-educated neuroscientist, who invented an award-winning cell growth incubator with her husband, had been telling friends she was increasingly worried about her failure to obtain tenure.

Sammie Lee Davis, whose wife Maria Ragland Davis was one of the victims, said he was told that his wife was at a meeting to discuss the tenure of another staff member. He said his wife had mentioned Bishop as a woman who was unable “to deal with reality” and was “not as good as she thought she was”.

A business associate who described Bishop as “a very smart, intense person who had a variety of opinions on issues” added that she had spoken of her frustration. “She began to talk about her problems getting tenure in a very forceful and animated way,” he said.

Many students were critical of Bishop, who had joined the university as an assistant professor in 2003. Amanda Tucker, a nursing student who was taught anatomy by Bishop, was among those who had signed a petition criticising her.

“When it came down to tests and people asked her what was the best way to study, she’d just tell you, ‘Read the book.’ When the test came there were just ridiculous questions. No one even knew what she was asking,” Tucker said.

Andrea Bennett, a second-year nursing student who was at one of Bishop’s classes on Friday, described her as “very weird”. She added: “She’s well known on campus, but I wouldn’t say she’s a good teacher. She’s a genius, but she really just can’t explain things.”
